Terms of Service

Collector Audit ("we", "us") provides software tools that help individuals document interactions with debt collectors, generate template letters, and arrange for those letters to be printed and mailed by a third-party mail provider. We are a software company. We are not a law firm, and using Collector Audit does not create an attorney-client relationship.

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use Collector Audit. By creating an account you confirm both.

The templates, prompts, score, and guidance in Collector Audit are general legal information. They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for reviewing every letter, decision, and disclosure before you send it.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us right away at support@mail.collectoraudit.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

When you choose to send a certified letter, you instruct us to transmit your name, return address, recipient name, recipient address, and the letter contents you have approved to our mail provider (currently Lob, Inc.), which prints and mails the letter via USPS certified mail on your behalf. You confirm that the contents are truthful, lawful, and your own.

Electronic-signature consent.By approving a letter and clicking "Confirm & pay" you electronically sign that letter and authorize us and our mail provider to print your name as the signer, render your typed name as your signature, and mail the letter on your behalf under the federal E-SIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.).

Collector Audit charges per action — there are no subscriptions. Payments are processed by Stripe.

• Certified mail: non-refundable once the letter has been transmitted to our mail provider. Before that point, contact support for a refund.
• Letter PDF copies and audit exports: refundable for any reason within 7 days of purchase if you have not downloaded the file.
• Failed deliveries: we will refund the postage portion if USPS marks the letter "return to sender" because of a provider-side error.

You agree not to use Collector Audit to:

• Send harassing, threatening, defamatory, or knowingly false statements;
• Impersonate another person or entity;
• Violate any federal, state, or local law, including the FDCPA, FCRA, or TCPA;
• Probe, scan, or reverse-engineer the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee that any letter will produce a particular outcome.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-product or by email at least seven days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new Terms.
